Organic Spelt Sourdough

Reminds me of dark bread from Dutch Bakkerij in Holland. Delicious, firm, and tasty.

Organic Einkorn Sourdough

This is our go-to breakfast bread - it's flavor is unmatched! It's hearty and filling. We appreciate the ancient grains and sourdough fermentation for the nutritional benefits

Organic Kamut Sourdough

I will not forget the flavor of this loaf; nutty, nuanced and wonderful when a friend brought it home from the market! It was the kind of loaf that was wonderful on its own with a little butter or olive oil! It was gone within a day in our home and I wished I had more!

Pain au Chocolat

What a gorgeous Pain au chocolat! By gorgeous I mean the texture of the layers on the inside. It took me back to my days in Europe. Perfectly baked and the chocolat wasn't overpowering it was just gorgeous!

Almond Croissant

My family absolutely loves these croissants. I buy some ready to eat and some to bake at home. They're the absolute best in Houston!!! The owner there is such a sweetheart and very helpful with any question you may have.

Almond Chocolate Croissant

This past saturday I was exploring the Urban Harvest Farmer's market for the first time, as I just moved to Houston and was desperately looking for a go-to market to support local businesses and buy my produce. I passed Artisana's booth and followed my mother as she approached it. I am not a pastry or bread eater, and my lack of a sweet tooth often deters me from morning chocolate, but for months I had been itching for an almond chocolate croissant, which Artisana so conveniently had, so I decided to take a chance and buy one. Best. Decision. Of. My. Life. This croissant changed the way that I view pastries. It was warm from the summer heat so the perfectly balanced chocolate and almond filling melted in my mouth along with the buttery croissant layers that truly revealed the effort and care that went into the making of this pastry. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

White Organic Sourdough Batard

White sourdough, thin sliced. I'm a regular for this. Feta, spinach, tomato savory pastry. That's my protein to eat first. Almond croissant, cut in half. The absolute wonder-treat. Try to give away the other half, or I'll eat that too. I tried the cardamon honey pastry, but the brioche style bun was not for me. I would like it as a flaky pastry.

Brioche Loaf

While my brioche didn't look like this picture it certainly taste it like brioche. I used it for French toast and my guest as well as family loved it.

Organic Pain de Campagne Sourdough

Wow. I've been looking for a bakery like this, and I'm so happy that I found it. I placed an order for next day pick-up. It was ready when I arrived. I ordered different breads and pastries. I think my favorite was the cheese danish... or was it the baguette... or the sourdough bread? I can't decide. Everything is so good. You can tell the workers love what they do, and you can taste their care and thoughtfulness in the food. I even bought some sourdough starter, which I am excited to try since my "home-born" batch is gone. If you are looking for a real artisanal bakery, this IS the place. I just wish I lived closer.

Organic Sourdough Baguette

Love the taste and texture of this baguette!! Great for making sandwiches or just slicing. Especially like that it is a sourdough baguette and made with organic flour and ingredients which makes for a healthier bread option. Online ordering for pickup at their bakery or Urban Harvest Farmers Market is a great way to make sure you get the bread or bakery items you want as they often sell out early and the sourdough baguette is only available on Saturdays at either location.
